Hi Friends,
We are making final preparations for the team of 6 to enter Haiti and head to our compound in Bremen, Haiti. Our goal for this 10 day trip is to begin the assembly of the 12 room school structure for our Agape Christian Academy on the Bremen compound. The school has 70 students with grades K-5th. There are 7 teachers and 2 teacher aids. The school currently is meeting in an open pavilion on the compound. Any inclement weather often prohibits school. The teachers and students are so excited to see a structure being assembled which will give each grade a separate classroom that is enclosed and provides them safety from bad weather. The 3 buildings were manufactured in the US by Erecta Shelters in Arkansas. They are earthquake safe and hurricane safe. This is a big plus for the community as a shelter from natural disasters which seem to hit Haiti too often. The church building is also constructed in this way. We are all so excited to be part of this historic event on Agape's home base compound.
Please be in prayer for this team as we head out on March 1st a 5:30am from Greensboro, NC to Miami. We arrive in Port au Prince at 2pm and head across the mountains 3 hours to Jacmel and the Cap Lamandou Hotel. The team will work on our compound daily ( except for worship at Bremen Church on Sunday) on the construction of the school. We leave the compound early on March 10th headed to a 9am departure for Miami and then to Greensboro, NC at midnight. Pray for health, safety in travels and at the work site as well as blessings for those we encounter and work alongside. Keep us mindful that we are the hands and feet of Jesus. Thank you for your prayers. Please look at our Agape Christian Mission Haiti site on Facebook for updates while we are in Haiti. Blessings, Linda
